Sadly, Ubuntu is not perfect. A wish-list of future Ubuntu features/applications. Some are available on Windows or Mac OS X, most aren't.

On dimensions-math.org you can see a whole bunch of before unseen geometry videos introducing 2-, 3- and 4-dimensional space, complex numbers and even more to the non-mathematician.

I just found this very nice talk of Voevodsky (2002) about A1-Homotopy Theory - where he explains it for non-mathematicians.
